Unit Overview

The Department of EM at Cooper University Health care is a dynamic clinical department that provides high quality patient-centric emergency care to our community.   As part of CUES (Center for Emergent and Urgent Services) for Cooper, we have an expansive clinical, educational, and research-based focus.  Our education team trains 40 EM residents, 2 EMS fellows, one education fellow and one ultrasound fellow in addition to teaching a highly rated required 4th year clerkship for every Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) student.  The service lines have expanded to include: 3 urgent care sites, pediatric EM, EMS, toxicology, ultrasound, collaboration with addiction medicine/pain management, high quality research/grants, geriatric EM and disaster medicine.

Education Requirements

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care within the Emergency Department (or designated clinical area).
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to optimize patient flow, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for strategic initiatives impacting emergency and acute care services.

Experience Required

The applicant must have completed an ACGME accredited EM residency program and be Board eligible/board certified in EM.   

License/Certification Requirements

The applicant must be ABEM Board eligible or ABEM board certified.
